Homegroup issues - Windows 10 I have 5 computers, all running windows 10 on a homegroup. One particular computer will, seemingly randomly, lose its rights to connect to the homegroup. I have checked the credentials and they are still intact, but access is denied. The internet still works.

For your direct question - yes you can use the Microsoft Key Update utility to go from a VLK to a valid product key for whatever product you have installed - but you need a valid product key.

Conditions that cause File History to create multiple copies of files (A bug related to Windows Update & HomeGroup) I have two Windows 8 Pro computers each with multiple accounts. File History is used on both computers, and by each of the accounts. HomeGroup is only used by 2 of the 3 accounts on one of the computers, and shares files as read-only.
